If travelling isn’t on your list of things to do this June holidays, then perhaps the slew of activities organized by Sentosa will be right up your alley.

Their annual June festivities continues this year with a lineup fit for all ages. Think larger-than-life mega inflatables, movies by the beach, a Merlion showcase and other mesmerizing installations.

Not attractive enough reason to partake in the festivities? You’ll be glad to know that this annual ticketed event ($28/adult & $18/child) is now opened to the public at no cost at all.

Here’s what to expect at this beach festival:

Mega Inflatables Playground

This fun inflatable is right on Palawan Beach, where an outdoor playground of inflatables and installations await. If you think the one at the DBS Marina Regatta is impressive, the  one at Sentosa is a mega-fun delight  with their 3-storey high slide, pool of foam and an inflatable maze.

Oh, and do remember to bring your swimwear as there is a high chance you will be constantly sprayed with water – and foam.

Thrill seekers would enjoy this outdoor version of the popular escape room game, where you would be pitted against time to solve challenging puzzles. Those afraid of heights might want to stay far away from this particular activity since a major part of the game would be spent on the cable car solving puzzles.

This collaboration between the Escape Artist and Singapore Cable Car promises to keep you on your toes with their dystopian storyline. Timings are also flexible for this game since it can start anytime within the stipulated time-frame, making it a perfect weekend activity.

Merlion Magic Lights Showcase

A (free) mesmerizing light installation sure is one way to capture the hearts and attention of Singaporeans. Don’t miss out on their thematic light shows, set against Sentosa’s one-and-only icon, the 37m-tall Merlion. Held every night throughout Mega Fun festival, make sure to witness this world-class technology show that has taken  10 people, 2,800 hours to prepare.

Movies By The Beach

Outdoor cinemas are a rare gem in Singapore, but thankfully, there are still a few outdoor movie screenings  in a year. Movie nights on the open field at the Palawan beach will feature a series of family-friendly blockbusters guaranteed to end your day on a high.

It will be screened every week from Thursday to Sunday, with themes for animal lovers, movies with cuteness overload and action-packed movies for the action lovers. Adults, don’t be afraid  to gate crash this event, we’re never too old for some good ol’ kiddy movies.
