Whether you have been skipping to the beats of Kendrick Lamar or slaying your leg day with a little help from Kygo, it’s safe to say that behind every successful, blood-pumping workout is a booming track – which is probably why The Music Run is such a hit.

There are 3 different categories in The Music Run that participants can choose from, with 2 timed courses and 1 for the casual runners. If you’re looking for a bit of a challenge, definitely go for the 5K or 10K courses.

With five music zones featuring different genres – you’ll finish the course before you know it!

7. Emonightsg: The B-Sides

We’ve all been there. The glory days of emo, eyeliners, skinny jeans and too many feelings.

Now that we’re way past that, EMONIGHTSG: The B-Sides is a night of celebration for all things emo. TheBryanState, Waliman and Amelia.CJL are taking over Kilo Lounge to bring you a dose of emo, pop punk and indie rock tunes to celebrate all things alternative.

So if you’re looking to sing (or scream) your heart out to tunes you used to play in the background whilst you weep about your first love, it’s time to redraw that eyeliner and put on those skinny jeans for this mid-week breather.

9. Break Out 2018 K-Dance Extreme Comedy

Source

Sold out in 2009 and 2010, Break Out is back with a brand new production! This version guarantees an even more pulsating, side-splitting, and exhilarating performance with new stage hologram technology.

As if breakdancing isn’t thrilling enough, these guys like to mix things up by injecting comedy into their performance. Expect to see powerful dance moves coupled with classic slapstick comedy, guaranteed to make your stomach hurt – in a good way, of course.

10. Thick Beats For Good Girls

Thick Beats for Good Girls is exactly what it says it is – the unladylike genre of hip hop, served up by literary ladies Pooja Nansi and her co-playwright Jessica Bellamy.

Source

Presented by Checkpoint Theatre, this all-new production is a two-woman show surrounding what the duo call a balancing act; of being a woman, an ethnic or religious minority, and a hip-hop enthusiast all at once.

Look forward to an uninhibited night of laughs and meaningful conversations, as the two share their original poems, rhymes and musings on life in the same striking fashion as any modern-day rapper-with-a-message.

11. The Luggage Market

If shopping on a budget is your new year’s priority, then be sure to drop by The Luggage Market at The Adelphi. This new weekly market has over 45 booths selling exclusively preloved wares straight out of – you guessed it – luggages.

Bargain hunters can also look forward to a curated section of quality preloved clothing every week, from local fashion reseller Refash.

12. Eguchi Ayane: Ode To Wonderland

Enter the whimsical world of Kuma, created by Japanese artist Eguchi Ayane. Her third solo exhibition and first in Singapore, the artworks presented follows Kuma, a superficially cute-looking bear, through a candy-colored wonderland.

Source

Don’t be fooled though, as it’s not just sugar, spice and everything nice in Eguchi’s world. The exhibition reflects on life and mortality, and reveals a sense of morbidity on closer inspection. According to the artist, the character Kuma itself represents things that live and die, and that are everywhere and yet nowhere.
